What this site is — and isn't

Sunflower UA publishes practical, general information for Ukrainians living abroad who still have money, property, family, or paperwork in Ukraine. By using the site you agree to these terms.

Nothing here is professional advice. Not legal, not financial, not tax, not immigration advice — even when a page discusses those topics. Content is written for a general audience, not for your situation. Reading it, or writing to us, creates no attorney–client or any other professional relationship. For decisions that matter, consult a professional licensed where you, your family, or your property actually are.

We are not a government service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or speaking for the Ukrainian government, any consulate or embassy, any host-country authority, or any international organisation. Where we describe an official procedure we link to the body that publishes it, and that body is the authority — not this page.

Numbers are estimates with a date on them

Cost figures, provider fees, and exchange rates are good-faith estimates based on the assumptions shown, each carrying an "as of" date. Prices, laws, and provider terms change without telling us. Verify current figures before acting — especially before moving money, signing anything, or booking an appointment.

Status and immigration rules change fast

Protection status, residence permits, and the deadlines attached to them are changed by governments at short notice, and they differ by country and by individual circumstance. Treat anything we write on those subjects as orientation only, check the official source we link, and get qualified help before you rely on it. Missing a deadline can cost someone their legal status, and we cannot carry that risk for you.

Links, providers, and money

We link to third-party sites, including government agencies and money-transfer providers. We do not control them and are not responsible for them. Where a link is an affiliate link — meaning we may earn a commission if you use it — it is marked as such on the page. That never changes which option we say is cheapest: the comparison is calculated from the fees and rates in our data file, and you can see the date they were checked. Provider names and trademarks belong to their owners, and comparisons here imply no endorsement in either direction.

Things you send us

If you send a question or a correction, you are giving us permission to edit it for length and clarity and to publish it without your name attached. We never publish your email address, full name, or contact details, and we do not publish identifying details about the family members you describe. Please do not send confidential documents or anything time-critical — this is an inbox a person reads, not a helpline. If you are in danger or need urgent consular help, contact the authorities or your nearest consulate directly.

Corrections and takedowns

Got something wrong, or want content about you removed? Email hello@sunflowerua.com. We correct factual errors, note material updates on the page, and honour reasonable takedown requests.

Privacy, short version

We collect what you give us: an email address if you subscribe, used only to send you the newsletter — unsubscribe anytime, every email has the link — and whatever you choose to write to us. We do not sell data and we do not run ads. If analytics are enabled they are privacy-oriented and cookieless (Plausible or Cloudflare Web Analytics); we do not track you across the web.

Cookies

This site sets no tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies — which is why you do not see a cookie banner here. Our host (Cloudflare) may set a strictly necessary cookie to keep the site secure and available, and that is it. If you click an affiliate link, the destination company may set its own cookies on its own site under its own policy.

Liability

The site is provided as-is. To the fullest extent the law allows, Sunflower UA is not liable for losses arising from reliance on the site's content or from dealings between users and third parties. Some jurisdictions limit these disclaimers, so parts may not apply to you.
