When the inheritance deadline falls
Enter the date of death and see when the six-month term for filing acceptance of the inheritance expires. The clock runs from the death — not from the day the news reached you.
Why this date matters
- One thing has to happen inside those six months: an application accepting the inheritance reaches a Ukrainian notary.
- Valuations, agreement between heirs, the power of attorney, deciding about the flat — all of that comes afterwards and has no deadline.
- People lose inheritances by waiting until they have everything in order. File first.
When this calculation does not apply
- Where an heir was conceived during the deceased’s lifetime but born after the death.
- Where another heir renounced or did not accept — a separate, shorter period may then run for you.
- Where the term has already passed: the question moves to the consent of the other heirs, or to a court.
This is a date calculator, not legal advice. It shows when six months from the date entered expires. A Ukrainian notary is the authority on your actual case — and Ukraine’s free legal aid service if it is not a standard one.
