A reference conversion at the NBU rate, not an exchange offer. The rate on a real transfer or card will differ — and the difference is exactly what is worth seeing.

What this number is

The National Bank publishes an official hryvnia rate against other currencies every day. It is used in accounting, in customs and tax calculations, and as the general reference point. We take it straight from the NBU open data when the site is built — nobody adds anything to it or recalculates it.

This is not the rate you will get

No bank and no transfer service will give you exactly the official rate — the difference is how they earn. That is fine and normal. What is not fine is calling that difference "zero fees" and not showing it.

How to use it

1. Look up today's official rate here.
2. Ask your provider how many hryvnia the recipient actually receives for your amount.
3. Divide one by the other, and you have the rate you are really being given.
4. The gap between those two numbers is the true price of the transfer, fees included.
